Are you positive and creative? Could you support people with learning disabilities, helping them live life on their own terms? Could you make an impact on a new service?

We have vacancies supporting young adults for full-time and part-time Support Workers in our new service in Shrewsbury. For occupational requirements, this is a female only vacancy.

About the role

You will play a key part in assisting 4 young people in their 20's, supporting them to live as independently as possible; in a vibrant new service, giving you the opportunity to make an impact on these peoples lives. You will join in with their favourite pastimes and hobbies, helping them be active members of their local community. Activities will be dependent on each individuals interests, and they are sure to be fun days out for all involved!

The work can be demanding and doesn't suit everyone, but if it's right for you, you'll find it incredibly rewarding and valuable. We will provide you with full training and with day-to-day help and advice from your Head of Service.

You'll take your turn working shifts on a rota, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, bank holidays and sleep-ins - shifts will be dependent on the requirements on a weekly basis - not all shift patterns will require all types of shifts to be completed.

What we need from you

Experience is not necessary, as we provide a full induction and free training programme, so this role is suitable for a trainee. People join us from many different backgrounds, it's more important to us that you have a positive approach and are willing to learn.
