Director General, Chief Executive Officer, Government Internal Audit Agency
It is just over three years since the Government Internal Audit Agency (GIAA) was formally established as an executive agency of HM Treasury. It now provides services to 14 main Departments, and employs over 75% of all the internal auditors working in Central Government. We are now looking to appoint a CEO who will take over the position from Jon Whitfield who has successfully led the Agency through its evolution and ongoing expansion. Having been established the Agency must now show that it is more than the sum of its previous departmental parts – looking to make the most of the corralling and application of its expertise to help the most senior decision makers in government to deliver enhanced value for money.
What we are offering?
An opportunity to join a highly respected, evolving organisation that builds and maintains strategic relationships at the most senior levels across the majority of Government Departments. The variety and potential contribution of the role of Chief Executive is exceptional and will have impact across the whole of Government.
What we are looking for?
We are looking for an exceptionally talented, experienced and energetic leader to fill this Chief Executive Officer position, who will be responsible for leading the Agency through its ongoing evolution. Somebody with the ability to manage change effectively, to lead with enthusiasm and vigour and an understanding of strategic issues in customer organisations coupled with strong corporate and team leadership experience and a professional qualification in internal audit or accountancy.
We are an equal opportunities employer and welcome suitably qualified applicants from all backgrounds.
