The Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) is recruiting for a Director, EU Exit Policy and Negotiations. BEIS is taking the lead in a number of key areas regarding the UK’s exit from the EU, and this is a fundamental role in the EU Exit & Analysis Group’s senior leadership team.

The Director for EU Exit Negotiations and Policy will have responsibility for overseeing the departments approach to the EU Exit negotiations, as well as leading on the development of policy in a number of cross-cutting areas of EU Exit policy. BEIS focus is to create a world class business environment driving investment and employment – delivering the best results for the UK exiting the EU and this is pivotal role in doing so. 

This role is extremely high profile and demanding. Any successful candidate will require the ability to navigate authoritatively through a range of diverse and complex environments. You will be the lead negotiator on industrial goods and jointly responsible for a growing directorate of c.100 people. You will provide the strategic oversight of goods policy, and drive forward this work at a strategic level. 

For this position, you will need to be a confident leader who combines exceptional policy and negotiations skills with strategic leadership. With regular travel predominantly within Europe, this is one of the most stimulating Director jobs in the UK Government, at the heart of BEIS’ EU Exit programme.
