JOB TITLE: Teacher of Mathematics

THE COMPANY: We are currently working for a leading independent Boarding and Day school for girls aged 4-18 in Great Malvern, Worcestershire. It is a dynamic school where every girl plays a crucial role and has a strong sense of self-worth. The School is now seeking a Teacher of Mathematics to join the team in September 2018.

THE ROLE: The Teacher of Mathematics is accountable to the Headmistress cia the Head of Mathematics. You will be teaching pupils within the school and to carry out such other associated duties. You will be establishing and maintaining productive relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues by interacting on a professional level.

Key Responsibilities for the Teacher of Mathematics role to include:-

Planning and preparing courses and lessons to promote pupil’s active engagement in learning
Being fully versed in and compliant with all the school’s Child Protection (Safeguarding) policies and procedures
Class teaching and being an assistant Form Tutor
The consistent use of departmental marking, recording and assessment policies
Teaching, according to their educational needs (including those with SEND and the More Able) the pupils assigned to her / him, including the regular setting and marking of work, according to departmental guidelines
Assessing, recording and reporting on the development, progress and attainment of pupils
Organising, leading and participating in extra-curricular activities and educational visits

There is a Mathematics Coach which could coincide with this position as it is approximately 4 hours per week. £13.75 per 30 minute sessions + £1.66 holiday pay per session.

THE CANDIDATE: The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and have the ability to inspire, empower and motivate. You will also be able to prioritise and to work flexibly to tight deadlines. Ideally you will have experience of teaching up to A Level further Maths or have the ability to prepare students for Oxbridge entrance examinations, however this is not essential.

Key experience essential for the role of the Teacher of Mathematics:-

Degree in Mathematics or a related subject
Teaching qualification
Computer literate
Experience of teaching up to A Level Mathematics
Experience of effective marking, recording and assessment
Evidence of a range of teaching and learning strategies
Willing to complete a DBS check
Live within a commutable distance to Malvern near Worcester
