LOCATION: Portsmouth

JOB TITLE: Lunchtime Assistant

SALARY & BENEFITS: £2,980 or £4,867 per annum

WORKING HOURS: 7.5 hours per week, 11.45am – 1.15pm daily, term-time only. There is an option of supporting Senior Section lunchtime and finishing at 2pm.

THE COMPANY: We are currently working with a mixed 'all-through' school for pupils aged between 4 – 16 years. The school is the largest state school in Portsmouth. They are now seeking a Lunchtime Assistant to join the Primary team.

THE ROLE: As the Lunchtime assistant you will be supervising pupils at lunchtime in the dining hall, playground or while moving around the school site.

Key Responsibilities for the Lunchtime Assistant role to include:-

• To supervise pupils in the dining hall (including supervising pupils collect, eat and clear away their meals), playground, field area and school premises
• To ensure the care of pupils who are injured or unwell
• Ensure that pupils play together positively and co-operatively with good behaviour
• Giving comfort to distressed pupils
• To uphold the School’s Behaviour and Packed Lunch Policies, including treating pupils with respect and consideration
• To work with, and support, the kitchen staff to ensure a smooth and professional midday service is provided

THE CANDIDATE: The successful applicant will need to be able to build and maintain positive relationships with individuals and groups. You will have a commitment to inclusion and have a positive attitude. Ideally you will have experience in a similar position.

Key experience essential for the role of the Lunchtime Assistant:-

• A minimum of 1 years' experience working within an education setting or working with children
• Willing to complete a DBS check at job offer stage
• Live within a commutable distance to Portsmouth
