On behalf of our client, we are recruiting for a Credit Controller to work 20 hours per week at the company’s office on the outskirts of Wokingham. This is an extremely friendly firm, working within the services sector and the hours can be flexible to suit.

Within this role, there is likely to be an element of contract support that could take around four hours per week with 16 hours devoted to credit control, depending upon the workload at any given time.

Reporting to the Financial Controller – with responsibility for a ledger of £1m – the Credit Controller will be responsible for:

• Chasing overdue accounts via telephone, email and letter in accordance with the company’s credit control policy
• Dealing with internal and external client account queries in an efficient, friendly and professional manner, eg; providing copy invoices and paperwork and liaising with Account Managers
• Keeping client credit control communications records and internal reports updated
• Sending monthly client account statements
• Chasing overdue contracts
• Supporting the Financial Controller as required

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and attributes:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and be very confident on the phone
• Strong numerical and Excel skills
• Experience of using Sage
• Be highly organised and able to work on own initiative and as part of a team
• Have previous experience within an accounts / credit control role

Because of the semi-rural location of the company, applicants will have their own transport as the location is not well-served by public transport.
