Governors with expertise in Further Education
Hereford College of Arts is a vibrant arts college with a specialist focus on art, media, design, popular music and performing arts. The curriculum includes undergraduate and postgraduate degrees alongside a range of Further Education programmes and a wide-ranging short course programme. Our mission is to empower creativity and enrich our world through transformative arts education and we are proud of the way our community of students, staff, governors, fellows, partners and alumni contribute to the benefit of our wider society. We have a good reputation and track record, but have ambitious plans to develop and grow our distinctiveness and have recently embarked on a full review of our strategy to achieve our vision. Hereford city and the wider region are also full of ambition with new cultural initiatives and enterprises, and an innovative engineering university in development, which offer many opportunities for collaboration.
We are now looking to strengthen the Further Education expertise of our Board.
You’ll need to be committed to education, the arts and the College’s ethos: to collaborate with partners, promote and expand Hereford College of Arts in the community and wider afield, both regionally and nationally. You must have a proven track record in Further Education leadership and be a strategic thinker.
There are five Board meetings and at least three Committee meetings annually. In addition to formal meetings there will be a range of other opportunities through the year to meet staff and students and deepen your knowledge of the College.
This is a voluntary appointment; reasonable travel, subsistence and out of pocket expenses will be reimbursed.
