Our client based in Newport Pagnell is looking to recruit a Receptionist/Administrator to join their friendly reception team on a part time basis. In this role, you will be responsible for providing a high standard of face to face support to patients, staff and visitors at all times whilst maintaining confidentiality.

Position: Part time Receptionist/Administrator

Hours: 21 hours per week, worked on a rota basis to include occasional Saturdays

Salary: £7.93 ph

The job will involve…

- Greeting patients, doctors and visitors at Reception in a polite and friendly manner.

- Answering the telephone promptly and courteously.

- Making appointments using the computerised appointments system.

- Administering the procedure for repeat prescriptions.

- Opening and sorting all Medical Centre post, both internal and external.

- Ensuring the smooth running of all surgeries and clinics.

- Arranging hospital appointments where relevant e.g. x-rays, out-patients.

- Receiving patients' specimens ready for pathology laboratory collection.

- Dealing with general enquiries from patients and visitors in a helpful and efficient manner.

- Collating and sorting paperwork from GPs and other Practice staff, and deal with accordingly.

- Informing patients of computerised test results, in person, on the telephone or by letter.

- Supporting colleagues to maintain an efficient and friendly team atmosphere.

The Person will…

- Have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

- Have experience of dealing with the public, in sometimes stressful situations

- Have the ability to demonstrate an awareness of issues surrounding information sharing and confidentiality

- Have a flexible approach to their work

- Be competent in the use of Microsoft Office, Word and Excel

- Have a good standard of typing skills

- Have the ability to undertake basic risk assessments

- Have a good standard of education
