Technical Sales Manager (Build Aviator)
This role is covering the East of England. East Midlands / East Anglia
To develop customer engagement with Build Aviator Technical Services leading to: -Sales of Build Aviator Services and increases sales of SGBD building materials
To work with Field and Branch Based Sales teams to develop their capability to promote and sell Build Aviator Services.
Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications, and Experience Required
Essential -Proven track record in a field based sales role -Strong product knowledge across main building distribution product groups -Be familiar with Builders Merchant pricing systems -Strong communication, negotiation, presentation skills -Previous experience of prospecting and generating new building sales opportunities -Experience of working within a customer relationship management -Team player with the ability to work on own initiative when required -Good planning, organisation and time management skills -Ability to adapt to change positively and proactively -The ability to demonstrate commercial acumen -Excellent people skills for working with a range of colleagues and clients -Good GCSEs including Maths and English -Adaptable with the ability to lean and apply new ways of working and technical concepts -Must have clean driving licence (travel is essential)
Desirable -Understand the ‘Building Programme’ from a Builder perspective -Some knowledge of construction contract procedures, material supply chains and systems -A degree in Sales, Marketing or Business , Architecture, Engineering (advantageous) -Prince qualification (advantageous) -Professional membership of either CIC membership Construction Industry Council
or RICS Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (advantageous)
Key Results Areas
You will be required to: -Pipeline Development: Develop a pipeline of target customer opportunities: work with marketing, field & branch based sales teams and new customers -Technical Sales: Engage with customers to profile the opportunity, promote and then sell Build Aviator Technical Services -Solution Design: Using the 1BD product portfolio match customer requirements and technical services to ensure the customer has a clear 1BD product solution for every stage of the building project -Sales Process: Work with branch and project based sales teams to ensure there is a seamless transition from ordering of technical services to pricing, ordering and scheduling of materials -Partners: Build strong relationships with 3rd party service providers including Stroma, LABC, Pro Estimating Services -Customer Compliance: Understand how the Build Aviator technical services can help customers be compliant with Building Regulations, and keep up to date with the implications of changing building regulations -Technical Knowledge: Work to continuously improve technical knowledge in relation to changing market, regulations, new solutions, new products, new suppliers -Training: Deliver ongoing training of colleagues in Branch & Field Based sales teams to ensure they are capable of promoting and selling Build Aviator services -Reporting: Produce regular reports on activity and results as agreed with line manager
