Media and AV Technician
This is an attractive opportunity for a suitably skilled technician to work in our vibrant Media and Performing Arts department. This is a varied role with good opportunity for professional development. Alongside a range of technical duties there will be opportunities to work alongside students in support of their study assignments.
The majority of the work will be within the Media area, where you will provide technical support for the use, development, delivery and maintenance of media equipment and software packages. This will include providing initial guidance and support to students on the use of PC-based software, including work within the editing suite, and on the use of Media equipment, such as video cameras, or equipment in the green room. You will be asked to maintain a booking system for learning resources to ensure that equipment is effectively maintained and fit for purpose, and in working condition for timetabled teaching groups and individual bookings.
There is also a need to provide lighting and sound support for Performing Arts, and to assist staff and students in photographing, recording and editing film and audio for student performances, or other College events. Please note that some performances will be in the evening, though this is not frequent.
Working across two subject areas will require good self-management, and flexibility to respond effectively to priority need, to make best use of your time. Joining our team is a rare opportunity to be part of outstanding practice. You will be well supported, and can look forward to working with an excellent team and sharing the rewards of supporting our learners.
