THE COMPANY: The I newspaper is owned and published by Johnston Press which also publishes the Yorkshire Post and The Scotsman.

inews.co.uk is looking for an Video Editor to join its fast-growing team. A pivotal figure in the newsroom, you’ll deliver trending video content that delights our audience, shines a light on hot-button topics, and amplifies important and under-represented voices.

The successful candidate will have a can-do attitude and a notebook full of potential video ideas, which will include both original features and intelligent curation of third party content.

We are particularly interested in people with a background in news video. A geeky fascination with politics would be a definite plus.

We are looking for a problem solver who brings energy and enthusiasm to the role, which will involve the full spectrum of video production including planning, reporting, recording and editing.

Who we are looking for:
• Comfortable in a fast-paced media environment
• Strong video storytelling skills
• Experience of editing software ideally Adobe Premiere
• Live editing software, wirecast or equivalent
• Strong social media skills
• Experience of analytics and optimising video platforms
• A good knowledge of media law

Broader skills:
• Be a team player: able to work closely with digital colleagues specialising in data, analytics, content and social media
• Familiar with video monetisation strategies
• A good eye for a video story
• Follows the latest video trends
• Able to interpret online analytics and a proven ability to act on them
• Familiarity with social and analytics tools that drive both content discovery and creation
