Job Title: Relationship and Development Manager (North West)

Reports to: Head of Region (North West)

Hours: Part Time (2 or 2.5 days per week)

Contract: Permanent

Start date: October 2018

Location: Manchester

Salary: £33,000 (pro-rated to 0.4 or 0.5 FTE) plus competitive pension

 

Key responsibilities

- Excellent relationship management that takes into account the needs and requirements of stakeholders.

- Negotiating with and influencing external partners and internal stakeholders successfully at the highest levels.

- Communicating purpose and direction with clarity, integrity and enthusiasm.

- Working collaboratively, sharing information appropriately and building supportive and trusting professional relationships with a range of stakeholders.

- Holding partners to account through clear, confident and constructive feedback and appropriate issues resolution.

- Being highly organised in managing a number of partnerships and cohorts of participants through simultaneous annual cycles of activity.

- Dealing with challenges in a responsive and constructive way. Applying programme, project and risk management approaches.

- Use evaluation data and feedback to identify and drive programme delivery improvements– both within individual local authorities and, where appropriate, strategically across the local authority partnership.

Education and background

- Evidence of having established, developed and managed effective relationships with range of stakeholders.

- Strong track record of successful planning and delivery of complex projects. Experience of leading and driving change in services / programmes.

- Good understanding of social care statutory responsibilities of local authorities (desirable).

 

Characteristics and skills

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- Demonstrated drive, initiative and motivation to act in the best interest of the programme. Ability to explain information clearly and simply.

- Confidence, credibility and authority to develop trusting relationships with staff at all levels of organisational hierarchies.

- Ability to challenge and approach sensitive situations with diplomacy. High level of emotional as well as analytical intelligence.

- Ability to influence and negotiate effectively to deliver desired outcomes, including presentation skills.

- Ability to think and plan strategically as well as operationally.

- Highly organised and able to manage complexity and high levels of detail.

- Ability to interrogate and reflect on a range of different types of data, consider hypotheses, and develop into strategic and operational plans.

- Flexibility and ability to adapt to changing situations and new developments. High attention to detail.
