Take the next step in your career with a progressive and innovative organisation.

From environmental protection to resource exploration, the marine geospatial information provided by the United Kingdom Hydrographic Office (UKHO) is used in a myriad of ways.

Our clients know they can rely on us to produce precise and high-quality products time and time again, for use across a variety of industries where accuracy is essential.

As such, UKHO’s employees produce services that are used by fishermen, scientists and even defence navies around the world. Enabling safer journeys and trade efficiency, our work prevents loss of life and promotes successful outcomes for an international client-base – a challenge that we wholeheartedly embrace.

Supporting the work of the Divisional Business Manager (BM), you will be instrumental in ensuring they are able to fulfil their duties. As such, you will represent the BM at a variety of meetings, conveying their vision and requirements.

This will include conducting background research and collating data and information relating to key challenges such as risk reviews and continuous improvement. Managing and maintaining the Divisional SharePoint site, you will also verify and input intelligent data and prepare briefing material that will be used when engaging with other government departments and relevant organisations.

Enjoying a great deal of variety in this role, you will also spend at least one day a week with the Heads of Partnering & Engagement (HoPEs), conducting research on their behalf, dealing with queries relating to royalties and assisting with the technicalities of organising inward  visits.

To excel in this role, you will be able to think on your toes. With the capacity to juggle multiple challenges, meet deadlines, make decisions and identify areas that need further investigation, you’re intuitive and organisational capabilities will ensure the team benefits from flawless support.

Supporting colleagues with other duties such as travel bookings, you will have excellent IT skills (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint) and your communication skills will be second to none. Crucially, you will be committed to helping us deliver a high-quality service that offers value for money.

As a civil service organisation we enjoy a good benefits package, with the added allure of having targets to meet – meaning our team-spirit is goal-focussed and dynamic.

It is a stimulating setting in which to pursue your goals, particularly as your ambition will be supported with plenty of training and development opportunities – plus the added support of friendly colleagues who work in partnership to achieve incredible outcomes.
