An exciting opportunity has arisen for those interested in investigating the role of the genital tract microbiome and the use of metabonomic techniques in Gynaecological Cancers.
The post holder will join the team of Dr Maria Kyrgiou, within the Division of IRDB.
Duties and responsibilities
The successful candidate will carry out research programmes in the proposed field and undertake project management and/or supervise multi-disciplinary teams. In addition, he/she will be expected to submit publications to refereed journals and to attract external research funding. He/she will support Dr Kyrgiou’s research group and co-supervise students working on various aspects of the research program.
Applicants as part of their application must demonstrate how they meet the essential criteria for this post but in particular, must have obtained a PhD or equivalent qualification in metabonimics or a similar discipline. In addition, applicants must have knowledge of spectroscopy techniques and statistical analysis and experience of working within a research based environment, with publications in relevant refereed journals.
This post is part time (17.5 hours per week) and for a fixed term of 12 months in the first instance.
