Paraplanner, London, part time (3 days a week)

A City based firm of chartered independent financial advisers offering financial planning and portfolio management to high net worth individual and business clients is seeking an experienced Para planner to support two experienced IFAs.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone who is looking to play an integral part of a well-respected IFA practice that recognises and rewards success and commitment.

The successful candidate must have a very good understanding of the planning process, good technical knowledge and at least 5 years industry experience.


• Provide full technical support to two financial advisers
• Carry out in depth product research, investment fund analysis and the preparation of a full and comprehensive financial report for both individual and corporate clients
• Undertake in depth reviews of client portfolios and compile review reports
• Assist the advisers with the preparation of client meetings, emails, letters and paperwork as part of the advice process
• Oversee the administration process end to end
• Build cash flow models (Voyant) & FE analytics analysis
• Handle client queries and help service existing clients on a daily basis
• Comply with the firm’s internal Compliance procedures and Training & Competence requirements


• Previous industry experience as a Para planner with report writing experience within an IFA firm
• Sound technical knowledge that can be applied to all areas of financial planning
• Professional, ethical, technical and proactive in your approach to providing quality holistic advice
• Excellent written/verbal communication as well as organisation skills & time management
• Ability to cope well in a busy working environment
• Willingness for professional development
• Competent in word, excel & outlook
• Excellent interpersonal skills to be able to work alongside a friendly team of dedicated individuals
• Good organisation skills and processes to ensure business is processed efficiently and to a high standard
• Willingness to make decisions and use initiative to improve processes
• Diploma Level 4 qualified (preferable). Advanced level exams in investments and pensions will be an advantage; working towards Chartered status
• Intelligent office – client management database experience
• Five years industry specfic experience
• FE Analytics experience
• Voyant – or cash flow planning software experience
• Selectapension experience


• Permanent part- time employed position
• 3 days/week pro-rata competitive salary, with bonus.
