Major Loss Claims Specialist
This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside our expanding Milton Keynes Centre, which is the Allianz Claims Centre of Technical Excellence. We are looking to recruit a Property Claims Specialist for the Claims Major Loss Team in Milton Keynes. The Property Major Loss handlers are part of the wider Major Loss Team and are responsible for the investigation, negotiation and settlement of commercial property, engineering and household claims within agreed authority levels in accordance with Company and regulatory requirements. At all times, we ensure a high standard of customer service is provided. Primary responsibility will be the proactive management of a personal case load of high value (£100k +) property claims to achieve effective and competitive settlements. The property handlers work closely with the Public Liability (PL) property damage handlers. There will be cross-skilling opportunities.
The role involves working to a handling authority of £500k with an opportunity to handle a small number of claims above authority on referral.
Handle personal case load pro-actively to achieve efficient and competitive settlements and recoveries, ensuring claims are properly estimated and unpursued claims are closed in accordance with settlement guidelines.
Liaise with underwriters to ensure correct interpretation and application of policy wordings and appropriate knowledge transfer.
Handle allocated internal tasks, e.g.. review of estimates, diary, ensuring that all are dealt with within applicable time limits.
Support the quality review processes as required, identifying and acting upon development needs with a view to minimising leakage and achieving targets. This might include assisting with adjuster and other supplier audits.
Manage expectations of key stakeholders, e.g.. our customers and brokers, including site visits, ensuring that they are kept informed of developments.
Total compliance with all DPA/GDPR and Regulatory requirements.
Proven track record within a property claims handling environment
Proven track record in handling complex claims from notification to settlement
Good understanding of expert evidence
ACII preferred or working towards this (support provided)
Legal background/experience advantageous
