Families change. We change with them. That’s why to us, social work is always in progress. There’s never been a more exciting time to join our team: alongside making a difference to the lives of families in Lincolnshire, we’re sharing best practice and driving innovation as an improvement partner to other authorities. And our people are at the heart of this progress: that’s why we make sure they have access to the best support, development and training opportunities.
Social work is challenging. We’re making sure it’s challenging for the right reasons.
This is what potential looks like
Here at Lincolnshire County Council, we’re recognised as a leader in our field for the way we’re changing social work thinking and practice. And, as one of the government-selected Partners in Practice, being a social worker here means the work you do won’t just improve the lives of children and families in Lincolnshire: it will form part of a reverberation of change that sweeps across the UK. From bringing families together with the innovative Signs of Safety framework and implementing the Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) programme, to continually improving your practice through reflective supervision, you’ll make sure children’s interests are always being protected and promoted, as part of a council that’s pioneering a better, more innovative approach to social work.
What we’re looking for
Compassionate and dedicated, you’re a professional, qualified social worker with substantial children’s social care experience and in depth knowledge of the legislative framework and legal proceedings that govern children’s services. Exceptional communication skills and a love of your profession mean you’re able to make complicated information easily understandable. You’ll also need to show us that you have experience managing people and projects at different levels.
This is what opportunity looks like
Our people make progress possible. That’s why we make sure they have everything they need to excel, from comprehensive inductions, tailored in-house training, to support towards accreditation. Not only that, we’re revolutionising training, with our Bridging the Gap programme, increasing job mobility, by simplifying team swaps, and we’re promoting work-life balance, as we introduce flexible working policies. We’ll always encourage you to hone your skills, and always give you the support and reassurance you need with challenging work or difficult decision-making.
This is what Lincolnshire looks like
Good schools. Beautiful surroundings. Affordable housing. Some of the main reasons to join Lincolnshire County Council is Lincolnshire itself. From adventuring in the nearby Wolds, to visiting the coast, to exploring the rich local heritage there’s plenty to see and do in our warm and welcoming county. And, with a generous relocation and benefits package, plus a flexible approach to helping you strike the right work-life balance, we’ll give you all the support you need to make the most of it.
