We are currently implementing an exciting transformation programme in the way that Social Care is delivered within Devon Partnership Trust.

We are looking for a number of enthusiastic Social Work professionals across Devon, who can evidence a commitment to strengths based practice, a real pride in their profession and passion for delivering a social care pathway to individuals accessing secondary mental health services.

You would be employed by Devon County Council and embedded in Community Mental Health Teams across the county, to support meaningful partnership working and delivery of service.

There is national interest in the pathway/model that we have created and this is your opportunity to be part of an exciting programme of change in the way we deliver Social Care to the individuals we serve.

With a demand for mental health services rising, Social Work is a profession where you can make a difference.

The posts are available across North and Mid Devon.

Main duties of the role include:

Delivering a social care pathway in line with the requirements of the Care Act 2014.

A strong focus on offering a personalised and person-centred approach to assessment, support planning, safeguarding and review.

Strong effective communication skills as you will be working in partnership with other statutory and voluntary sector organisations.

Commitment to involving service users and carers in the delivery of a high quality and equitable service.

About you

You will have a sound knowledge of Health and Social Care and will be registered with HCPC as a Social Worker, holding the required qualification. You will evidence your experience gained from your previous professional roles and their relevance to this post.

What We Can Offer To You

In return for your skills, experience and commitment, you will get all the support you need - from your dedicated social work team manager, social work peers and wider professional networks. Through individual and team supervision to support reflective practice, and effective locally based administrative support, we aim to enable you to be the best Social Worker you can be. Equally, we are committed to your professional development, and as part of this, expect all staff to complete post-qualification training as well as other forms of continuous professional development.

We are keen to retain our most talented staff so will be encouraging you to get the most from your career, while helping you to achieve a healthy work-life balance - all in a beautiful part of the country. Amongst other things, we offer 21 days annual leave (plus bank holidays and statutory days) rising to 29 days, flexible working and a generous pension. If you need to move to Devon in order to take up the role, relocation support will be available.

As a place to live and work, Devon is hard to beat with top-performing schools, universities, vibrant cities, pretty villages and some of the most scenic coast and countryside in the UK. Living and working in Devon as a Social Worker has never been more attractive.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults, and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

This role requires a DBS disclosure. This role requires the ability to fulfil all spoken aspects of the role with confidence and fluency in English. Personal data we collect from you will be processed in accordance with the Applicant privacy notice.
