Hays Social Care is currently working alongside a leading provider of services for individuals with learning difficulties and other support needs in the Edinburgh and Lothian areas. Due internal role changes and growth, they are looking for Team Managers to join them on a permanent basis to provide leadership to their teams of Support Workers. The organisation prides itself in supporting service users to achieve their personal goals and live as independent a life as possible.
The ideal candidates will be fully experienced in staff management and have a solid background in providing person-centred services to individuals with support needs. Possession of an SVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care is a distinct advantage however consideration will be given to suitably experienced individuals who are willing to complete the qualification within 12 months of start date. In addition, you will be required to compete a Supervisory Professional Development Award within a further 6 months of starting the role, or achieving the SVQ Level 3, whichever is later. You will also be required to be registered with the SSSC within 6 months.
-Management of large teams of support workers
-Conducting team meetings and performance reviews
-Liaising with service users, families and statutory bodies such as Health & Social Work
-Managing annual leave, sickness and disciplinary meetings
The successful candidates will be willing to work on call on a rota basis and this will be discussed at interview stage. They will be creative, hardworking individuals with excellent leadership and communication skills.
