Director of Governance

About the Role
The Board is seeking an exceptional Director of Governance to work alongside members and the senior management team. This role provides an exciting opportunity for the successful candidate to build on their skills and experience.
The new Director of Governance will provide an essential link between governors, our employees and our students. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering the strategic aims and objectives of the organisation.
You will have excellent administrative, interpersonal and communication skills; the ability to prioritise a deadline-driven workload and to work on your own initiative. You will be experienced in preparing minutes and reports and be able to give sound advice to the Board whilst working effectively at a strategic governance level with the CEO, Principals and SLT.
You will be accountable to the Corporation, through the Chair, on all matters relating to your duties as an officer of the Corporation. To be successful you do not need to have experience of working in the education sector or as a Director of Governance, however, this experience would be a benefit. The new clerk will play a critical role in ensuring the effective governance of the Corporation and will need be able to demonstrate integrity, objectivity and impartiality.
