We are looking for an ambitious lecturer to take the lead role in running and developing our Software and Games Development Level 3 BTEC at our Lewes Campus, as well as various other opportunities.

You should be a competent programmer and also have experience in databases, PHP, javascript and a broad knowledge of web and mobile technologies, cybersecurity and project management methodologies.

As an excellent communicator, you will be able to break down concepts and devise practical ways to secure a deep understanding with learners. Ideally educated to degree level (or equivalent) in a relevant subject, you should also have a teaching qualification, or be willing to work towards one. This role will allow you to inspire the next generation of software developers and tech entrepreneurs.

You will be highly motivated and enthusiastic about teaching and learning and be able to stretch the most able students. For this role teaching experience is not essential but would be highly advantageous, together with in depth knowledge of emerging trends in the digital industries and industry experience.

The person we are looking for would be involved in promoting our courses through collaboration with local schools as well as holding extra curricular events such as coding clubs or Game Jam events etc. Software and Games Development is an exciting and fast moving area and you should be prepared to investigate new technologies and integrate them into the curriculum and contribute to the development of new provision in the area.

From September 2019 we are looking to expand our offer to include HND Courses in either App or Games development. Successful candidates would be encouraged to take a lead role in developing this expanded offer.

The course is based on the BTEC Level 3 Nationals in Information Technology (2017) Extended Diploma over 2 years.

This post is subject to a DBS check.

Closing date: 23rd September 2018.
