Inclusion Workers. Term time only, various hours which can be worked over 2 - 5 days. Permanent.
At Leicester College we do our best to ensure all students are engaged with learning and able to progress to their potential. We work with students who require a range of additional support to fully access the curriculum and the college environment. This could be group work and 1:1 support in the classroom or in the community.
We are looking to recruit Inclusion Workers who have experience of working with adults with learning disabilities. Our students have a wide range of support needs including students on the autistic spectrum and with sensory impairments. You will be supporting students who are working towards entry level 1 and up to entry level 3. Your role may include assisting students with personal care and eating and drinking.
We are looking for employees who understand the role of additional learning support within education, have a commitment to empowering students and developing their communication and independence skills. We want people who are highly motivated, flexible, can work as a team and use their own initiative at all times.
The successful applicants will be given specific training in moving and handling and will hold a Level 2 qualification in Learning Support or Health & Social Care or in a related subject as well as Level 2 minimum in Maths and English (GCSE Grade C or above, GCSE Grade 4 or above or equivalent).
Usual working hours will be between 8.30am - 3.00pm Monday - Friday, 39 weeks per year, with a variety of working days available. There is a rota for transport duty until 3.30pm.
