Kirklees College is an exciting place to work. Our achievement rate for full-time 16-18 courses is above the national average. We have the highest achievement rate in West Yorkshire (and are 10th in England) for Apprenticeships 16-18. Kirklees College is a large and vibrant, multi-site college with major centres in Huddersfield and Dewsbury, offering a broad and comprehensive curriculum. In addition to our main sites, we have specialist vocational centres including Engineering, Process Manufacturing, Animal Care and Landbased, Equine, and Construction. A new sixth form centre has also recently opened in the heart of Dewsbury town centre for full time students.

Our recent Ofsted inspection confirmed that we are “good” and our journey to outstanding is well on the way. These newly created roles are therefore critical in managing the curriculum and ensuring we become an outstanding provider.

A major organisational change programme has resulted in a new curriculum management structure and we are now seeking two strong, innovative leaders to shape and align our strategy in order to champion high quality teaching, learning and assessment, deliver outstanding results and learner experience.

As part of the Senior Leadership Team we will expect you to work with skill, pace and commitment. You will be leading on the all key aspects of the curriculum for a number of faculties, in addition to taking on the strategic responsibility across college for Study Programmes or Adults and HE as applicable to each role. We are seeking two inspirational leaders who will play a key role as members of the SLT in continuing our journey towards excellence. You will have a strong track record in curriculum development and innovation together with a creative and visionary leadership style and the ability to develop and implement holistic strategies, motivate a high performing workforce and leverage new opportunities.

You will be working with a progressive, committed and supportive Board and senior leadership team who are ambitious for success. You will have the opportunity of reviewing, shaping and implementing the long-term strategy for the College. These posts provide an exciting opportunity to deliver successful, sustainable and meaningful change and to contribute to the College being clearly recognised as a beacon of excellence and inclusion. If you have a proven track record of achievement at a senior level in the education sector and are passionate about the positive economic and social role that FE at its best can play then this could be the opportunity for you.

Closing date: Monday 1st October 2018 at 09:00 hours.

Selection centres to take place at the College w/c 18th & 19th October 2018.

Our senior leadership team is currently under-represented in all BAME categories; we therefore particularly welcome applications from candidates within these groups.
