  2. To provide the initial welcome to all College visitors and customers. To be professional and enthusiastic and deliver the agreed service standards at all times. To receive and direct visitors, using the appropriate identification procedures.

  3. To work flexibly as part of the Estates team, working closely with the Security team to help deliver a seamless service to student customers.

  4. Operate the switchboard; routing calls effectively, answering queries, where possible and appropriate.

  5. Manage all voice mail lines, responding to all messages as appropriate.

  6. Monitor extension/line usage and refer requests for new lines and additional telephone services.

  7. Be able to interrogate the Access control software and issue cards to students.

  8. Assist with managing the security desk during peak times and breaks working with College procedures

  9. Assist with taking payment for ID cards, parking permits etc. using the payment card machine and till.

  10. Assist with the franking and dispatch of post.

  11. Respond to requests and queries from both staff and visitors.

  12. Manage a diary of all College visitors and internal and external meetings and events and producing reserved parking signs daily in advance.

  13. Liaise with the Head of Estates/Security Officers/First Aiders in relation to accidents or emergencies reported to Reception.

  14. To support the Security Officers in relation to Safeguarding Procedures.

  15. To be aware of, and follow, the procedure to be taken in case of emergency evacuations from the building.
