Barista / Coffee Shop Assistant

MBNA Thames Clippers, part of AEG Europe, are London's leading River Bus service. Our fleet of high-speed catamarans provide commuters and sightseers with a unique way to travel around the capital. We carry around 4 million passengers a year and employ over 320 staff.

Hours: 35 hours per week, 4 days on 2 days off rolling shift pattern
Salary: £14,852 increasing to £17,472 per year

About the role: 

You will be working full time on board our vessels and positively engaging with our customers whilst serving them from our wide-ranging menu; maintaining a high level of customer service at all times and be cheerful, approachable and helpful. 

With the training we provide, you will have gain knowledge of the variety of our products we sell on board; be able to serve our customers quickly and efficiently and maintain and clean the Barista equipment and surrounding areas; minimising waste and ensuring stock is maintained managed efficiently.

About you: 

We are looking for people with previous experience in a customer service role, ideally from a hospitality or tourism background. With a genuine desire and ability to work with the public in a front line, customer focused environment; you will be able to build rapport with customers and be approachable, knowledgeable and helpful. 

You must be able to thrive in a very busy environment and maintain patience and empathy even when working under pressure. We are looking for people with good communication skills, a great team work ethic and a friendly, helpful customer focused approach.

This is a shift-based role and therefore some shifts you may have to start early in the morning or finish late at night. You will also be required to work weekends. Our full-time role work pattern is below:
