Job overview

The successful applicant will work closely with the Finance and Administration teams in the main office of Family Gateway, based in the Howdon Community Centre. The role requires a dedicated, ambitious young person to support and assist the office-based staff with the daily running of the centre, whilst gaining valuable work based experience in an award winning charity.

Main responsibilities

The daily duties include:

Providing office support including customer and employee support Keeping well-organise files and records of business activity Keeping computer databases up to date Interacting with centre users on the phone or in person Preparing meeting rooms by setting up chairs and arranging refreshments Giving feedback on office efficiency and suggesting possible improvements and being ready for any other administrative tasks that are required

Finance tasks will include:

Daily handling and balancing of cash Administration of purchase and sales invoices Maintenance of petty cash spreadsheets Stocktaking, photocopier maintenance Maintaining stationery levels, daily post (internal and external), recording travel expenses)

Desired qualification

3 x GCSE (or equivalent) at grades A-C in any subject, plus GCSE English and Maths (or equivalents) at grade D or above

Working week

9am-5:30pm, Monday to Friday, (37.5 hours a week)

£3.70 per hour, £138.75 per week
