Residential Support Worker - Central Birmingham - Permanent - 39 Hour Contract - £16,325.4 Annual Salary

Your new company
I am currently representing an organisation that are looking to recruit for a residential support worker to join their team. This residential home provide a service for people with specialist needs. Within the service they have a total of 8 service users with needs that vary from autism, acquired brain injury, learning disabilities and sensory impairment. All residents rely on their support workers to provide a tailored 24 hour care plan which includes promoting as much independence and happiness, as well as offering as much opportunity for participation to internal and community based activities as possible.

Your new role
As a support worker within this service, your role will require following care plans to help with supporting residents, offering support with personal care while still promoting independence where possible, administrating medication in line with schedules of medication the individuals have been set from GPs and most importantly ensuring their happiness of living in the residential home is prioritised at all time.

What you'll need to succeed
You will have prior experience of working as a support worker in a similar setting, creative with organising of activities that offer inclusion to all. Your mandatory training and having a minimum of an NVQ 2 health and social care qualification, or equivalent of the care certificate is desirable however not essential as long as willing to work towards having in date training and qualification.

What you'll get in return
You will be paid a competitive hourly rate of £8.05 per hour over a 39 hour week which includes 28 days holiday. This organisation are willing to offer you opportunity to develop and further your education as well as offering specialist training based on residents needs. They will also provide you with a DBS if you do not currently hold one on the update service.
