To manage learning of the highest quality and take ownership of the curriculum delivery and development in the individuals subject area. To undertake the pastoral responsibilities associated to a teaching position to ensure the wellbeing of the learner in addition to academic achievement whilst robustly promoting and ensuring positive student behaviour.

You will prioritise and support the educational experience of the student, assist with the effective working of the curriculum area and take responsibility to ensure the realisation of the Colleges vision and values.
Teaching and Learning

? Maintain a safe learning environment that conforms to statutory requirements and promotes equality, including appropriate consideration of the needs of young people and adults
? Use flexible and varied teaching strategies, methods and resources to implement learning activities that develop the skills of all learners and promote learner autonomy, confidence, resilience, enterprise and aspiration
? Make appropriate use of, promote the benefits of, and support learners in the use of technologies

? Encourage the development and progression of all learners through recognising, valuing, and responding to individual motivation, prior experience, and aspirations
? Work with learners to address particular individual learning needs, and overcome barriers to learning

? Work with learners to identify the transferable skills they are developing, and how these might relate to employment or further learning opportunities


? Negotiate appropriate and challenging learning goals with learners

? Ensure that learners understand, are involved in, and share in responsibility for the assessment of their learning

? Apply appropriate methods of assessment fairly and effectively to provide valid, reliable, and sufficient evidence of achievement

? Record assessment results on appropriate tracking systems

? Provide timely, detailed, and constructive feedback to learners to enable them to develop their skills

? Use assessment information to evaluate and plan further learning to enable learners

to progress and achieve


? Demonstrate skill in the selection of teaching strategies, methods and resources to meet the needs of individual learners to enable them to achieve their goals and fulfil their potential

? Demonstrate commitment to career-long professional development

? Where appropriate to the role, engage with research to update and deepen subject knowledge
? Where appropriate to the role, engage with the workplace and employers to update and deepen vocational knowledge, build and maintain relationships
? Undertake course leadership as an established practitioner

? Work cooperatively and collaboratively with colleagues, partners, employers and the wider community to enhance the learning and wellbeing of those they teach

? Work with colleagues to provide effective guidance and support to enable learners to progress onto further learning or employment

? Contribute to a collaborative learning culture that promotes learning in organisations, employers and the community

? Maintain the discipline of students in line with Seevic policies and procedures, throughout the Campus, and to take appropriate responsibility and action, as outlined in the College guidelines and in accordance with Child Protection best practice.

? Has an understanding that safeguarding is a shared cross college responsibility. Takes ownership of embedding safeguarding practices into their remit as appropriate to their role within the organisation
  • Health and Safety is everyone's responsibility and you will be required to adhere to all policy and legislative practice during every activity of work, as well as attending necessary training

      There is a mandatory requirement for all teaching staff to participate in promotional events both within the Campus and possibly at other venues. These events take place predominately on a Tuesday evening. Promotion of the curriculum at these events is critical for College sustainability.
