A challenging and exciting opportunity has arisen at Hertford Regional College, for a dynamic Assistant Accountant to join the Finance team. The successful candidate will be required to deliver a timely and proactive service to the College management team. Located at Ware Campus there will be the requirement to travel to CK Assessment and Training LTD, a trading subsidiary of the College based in an industrial setting at Nazeing.
The role reports directly to the Finance Manager and will work on core financial tasks; key areas include monthly management accounts for the trading subsidiary, balance sheet reconciliation, the preparation of accruals and prepayments, and fixed asset management. The role-holder will also provide support to budget holders and Executive Directors of the subsidiary company. Further details are provided in the job description.
The ideal person for this role should possess strong Excel skills and proven experience of the core tasks contained in the job description detailed above.
The candidate will be required to demonstrate the ability to work independently, use initiative and have the ability to respond positively and flexibly to the varying priorities of this role. You will need excellent interpersonal and communication skills and be a good and resilient team player.
The successful candidate will be AAT qualified and/or studying towards ACCA or an equivalent qualification.

Salary: £28,000 - £30,000 per annum depending on qualification and experience
Annual Leave: 25 days per annum plus all public and bank holidays.
