A good primary school in South London are looking for an experienced primary or SEN teacher to join their team as soon as possible. The role is working in their ASD provision for 5 mornings per week and is offered on a permanent contract with an additional SEN point.
Ideally they would like to find a primary teacher who has experience working with children with ASD, however there will be a good induction and plenty of support available.
The unit itself caters for 14 children from Key Stage 1 and 2 who are on the autistic spectrum. They are all reasonably high functioning and verbal, but do display some challenging behaviour. They spend most of their time in the provision, but efforts are made to include the children in some mainstream classes. The role will include focussed work on speech and language as well as improving social skills and general communication. The children are bright, and the school hope to find a primary SEN teacher who can help these children reach their potential.
This is a rewarding role and would really suit a primary teacher or SEN teacher who is looking for a really hands on part time position. Part time positions are in high demand, so this will not be around for long. If you would like to be included in the process, please forward a copy of your CV as soon as possible.
