Lecturer / Teacher - Engineering

We have great opportunity based at Bedford campus for an Engineering Lecturer to become a key member of our Engineering team.

As our Lecturer of Engineering, you will play a pivotal role in the success of our students through:

  • Preparation, delivery, assessment and verification of subject specialisms on a range of courses and levels
  • Leading curriculum design of HE provision within the Engineering department and across the Engineering disciplines including higher apprenticeship programmes
  • Supporting and guiding students to achieve success and realise their potential, managing students’ learning to provide a high quality learning experience
  • Contributing pro-actively to developments in curriculum development and innovative teaching
  • Leading projects on employer engagement specifically relating to HE curriculum needs
  • Participating in marketing and promotion activities to support a range of programmes and learning opportunities.

Our ideal candidates will have an ability to teach on a variety of engineering pathways, and successfully teaching a diverse range of students using a range of different approaches, alongside the following qualifications:

  • Degree in a relevant Engineering discipline
  • CertEd or a willingness to achieve
  • GCSE English & Maths at Grade A-C or equivalent

Bedford College

37 hours per week / 52 weeks per year

The salary range for this post is £20,500 to £39,042 per annum. Qualified lecturers will achieve a minimum salary of £25,500 per annum.

An Enhanced DBS check will be required and you will be required to declare any convictions, cautions, reprimands or final warnings, which would not be filtered in line with current guidance.
