Position: Community Support Worker 
Location: Cardiff, Wales 
Contract type: Part time, Fixed Term - 12 months (maternity cover) 
Hours: 14 per week 
Salary: £7,023.60 actual per annum

About the role: 

As a Community Support Worker you will have the opportunity to provide ongoing one to one support to people with dementia who are under the age of 65. Typically you will meet with identified service users on a weekly or fortnightly basis. The support you provide to your service users will be person centred and will be based on enabling that person to carry on being engaged with the community. 

You will work as part of a team of Community Support Workers and as part of the team you will contribute to the aim of helping people with dementia maintain their independence, improve their sense of well-being, and put them in more control of their lives. 

About you: 

We are looking for an individual who possesses NVQ level 2 (or equivalent) with an understanding of dementia, specifically in relation to the needs of those under the age of 65 that are living with dementia. Your ability to assess service user needs along with the understanding of the need for service user confidentially is essential to providing a valuable and worthwhile service. 

Previous experience of providing person-centred, non-judgmental, empathetic and practical support is vital. We are looking for a committed, dynamic individual that is IT literate with a proven record of accuracy and attention to detail. To be successful in this role you will possess strong communication skills as well as strong organisational and time management skills in order to manage your caseload of service users effectively.
