The Startup

Gozo Deli Ltd is a London-based start-up selling an innovative plant-based food range which will be the first to mass market in the UK.

The award-winning product range has quickly proven traction, winning retail listings in the ‘big three’: Wholefoods, Planet Organic and As Nature Intended, as well as Partridges, Selfridges and Harrods. We are now raising funding to build a factory, allowing us the opportunity to grow the business and diversify the product range. It will also provide an invaluable platform to continue to innovate and meet the demands of the rapidly growing dairy-free market in the UK and Europe.

We are now building an entrepreneurial management team to raise funding and run the relaunch of the business with our increased production capacity. You will be joining the founder of the company, our factory designers, and our advisor who is an experienced restaurant consultant and fundraiser.


The Role

We are looking for a strong founder to help raise investment for the company, and play a significant role in business development.

You will be responsible for the company finances, as well as advising and leading on sales and marketing.

Given the early nature of Gozo, the position is best suited to someone who is an entrepreneur at heart, passionate about building a successful company from its strong foundations. In addition to your main responsibilities, you will help define and shape the values, culture and mission of Gozo at this exciting stage of the business.


Primary Responsibilities

Play a vital role in raising seed investment, preparing documents required for presentation including financial forecasting and contributing towards business planning and valuation

Overall business development responsibility, including setting and achieving sales goals

Develop and implement product launching strategies

Design and execute sales and marketing strategies to grow revenue for the business

Create partnerships and win listings with major retailers in the UK and EU

Managing company finances: day-to-day transactional accounting for the business, providing information for making strategic decisions, management of the organisation’s cash flow, advising on and sourcing financing

Contribute to the management and improvement of operations by measuring and reporting regularly on key numbers crucial to the success of the organisation

Prepare budgets and forecasts, and report on progress against these throughout the year


Skills and Experience

Must have
1-3 years in marketing field
B2C experience
Demonstrated expertise in effective marketing strategies operations
Creative thinker with experience delivering results on a small budget
Experience in strategic management of social media platforms, Google AdWords and Facebook Ads
Numerate, preferably to degree level
Strong technical accounting knowledge
Fluent in English with excellent writing and communication skills
Confident and comfortable with Microsoft Excel with good financial modelling skills

Nice to have
Experience in Google Analytics, deliver analytics reports and SEO
Experience in growing a company from start-up, building the mechanisms to facilitate this
You have helped raise seed investment for a start-up with a strong background in investor relations
Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
