Position: Dementia Adviser 
Location: Anglesey, Bangor 
Contract type: Part time, Permanent 
Hours: 21 per week 
Salary: £12,207 actual per annum

About the role: 

Working within our team as a Dementia Advisor, you will have the rewarding opportunity to provide information and guidance to people living with dementia and their carers across Anglesey; your role will help to maintain their independence, improve their sense of well-being, and empower them in their daily lives. 

You will offer support and guidance in a variety of ways: face to face, by phone, letter or email. A primary part of the role will be signposting to external support organisations/agencies, liaising with health & social care professionals and other third sector organisations. You will also be expected to attend networking events, to raise the awareness and promote Alzheimer’s Society services. 

About you: 

We are looking for an individual who possesses NVQ level 3 (or equivalent) with an understanding of dementia and the needs of those living with dementia and their carers. An ability to assess service user needs along with an understanding of the importance of confidentially is essential. 

To be successful in this role you will have excellent non-judgmental communication & listening skills as well as strong organisational and time management skills. 

This role requires regular use of IT packages; therefore, a good standard of IT is essential. 

Due to the nature of this role you will be required to travel independently across the whole of Anglesey.
