Part Time 1:1 IT Teacher, Colchester

About the School and the 1:1 IT teacher role:

Prospero Teaching are looking for a qualified teacher to work 1:1 with two different students with a focus on IT.

Student 1:

• The first student is in Colchester and requires 2 x 3 hours sessions per week.
• They are a Year 12 student who is technically very competent – they can take a computer apart and rebuild it without any difficulties.
• Their Maths and English are at quite a low level hence they require help with the theory side of IT, especially with Computer Science.

Student 2

• The second student lives in Clacton-on-Sea and requires 1 x 3 hour session per week.
• They are in Year 11 and have low ability Maths and English hence need assistance getting up to standard for IT. They are not currently working towards a qualification.

General

• You will be teaching the students in their own, hence will be required to undertake some (paid) safeguarding training prior to starting.
• If the successful candidate is looking for more hours there is the potential to take on a more students.
• The position is to start ASAP.

Contract Details for the 1:1 IT Teacher role:

• Location – Colchester and Clacton
• Position – Part Time IT 1:1 Teacher
• Type of work – Teaching an excluded student in their own home.
• Start date – ASAP
• Contract type - Temporary – likely to be long term
• Duration / Likely Duration – Ongoing until the students can return to school.
• Full time/part time – Part time, 3 days per week, 3 hours per day
• Minimum rate of pay - £70 per session

Experience, Training and Qualifications required for the successful 1:1 IT Teacher:

• You MUST hold either QTS or QTLS.
• Experience working with Students with Autism.
• Strong knowledge of IT.
• Highly motivated and focused on achieving the best for every student.
• A positive attitude and desire towards working with SEN students.
• The ability to engage and motivate students whilst making learning fun.

To be eligible for the 1:1 IT teacher role through Prospero Teaching you must:

• Hold Right to Work in the UK
• Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
• Provide two professional child related references
