We are now seeking two – three Volunteer Co-ordinators to join our team in Leicester on a part time basis for a contract lasting until the 31st March 2019.

This is a superb opportunity for a volunteer-focused professional to pursue their working ambitions with our incredible charity.

We’ve been around for over 80 years and are dedicated to the needs of our older population, providing service the length and breadth of the UK and making a huge difference to the lives of those who may feel isolated and distant from communities they have been part of all their lives.

Your role will ensure that our primary method of supporting older people – volunteering – can continue and thrive. You’ll be working directly with volunteers and potential volunteers, engaging with them, bringing them on board and making sure they understand how important and vital they are to Royal Voluntary Service.

As a Volunteer Co-ordinator, you will support the recruitment and training of volunteers to fulfil the needs of local services throughout the Leicester area.

Working alongside Service Managers and their teams, you will:

- Develop and implement a volunteer recruitment and retention plan
- Recruit, train and motivate volunteers
- Explore methods of marketing to potential volunteers to reach the widest section of the community
- Interview volunteers and ensure they are placed in the most appropriate volunteering role
- Co-ordinate and facilitate regular volunteer meetings and training sessions
- Liaise with other organisations to identify potential sources of volunteers
- Carry out a range of administrative tasks

To be considered, you will need:

- Previous experience of working with volunteers and/or volunteer-led support groups
- Experience of recording data, monitoring and evaluation processes and maintaining databases
- The ability to provide appropriate support and supervision to volunteers
- The ability to proficiently use industry standard IT systems (e.g. Microsoft Office, Email, Internet, etc)
- A valid driving licence and access to your own vehicle

Please note, this role may involve some evening and weekend working therefore a flexible approach towards working hours will be necessary.

Organised and results-focused, as a Volunteer Co-ordinator, you’ll be an adept multi-tasker who can lead, inspire and engage others. You’ll also be enthusiastic and proactive with a collaborative approach to problem-solving.

We have a number of part time positions available, working between 10 – 16 hours per week, including some evenings and weekends.

This role will be advertised until Friday the 26th October 2018. Interviews will be held the following week.
