Working with a dynamic and well-established organisation we have an opportunity for a part time Payroll Clerk to join their finance team. The post holder will be required to work full time hours for training purposes up until Christmas, but thereafter will work 21.5 hours per week.

Job Description:

The role will involve maintaining and processing multiple payrolls for a group of companies.

* Collate all payroll information for the group ensuring that this is up to date with accuracy
* Ensure that new starters and leavers are processed in a timely manner
* Run both fortnightly and monthly payroll processes, ensuring hours worked and additional entries are accurate
* Update and populate gross pay reconciliation checks
* Report and record weekly variance and the reasons for the variance, reporting this to the Group Financial Director
* Ensure HMRC submissions are reconciled and payment information is given to the Treasury function
* Prepare the payroll journal for month end reporting purposes
* Update and maintain expenses policy at a group level and coordinating the communication with regular updates that meet HMRC requirements
* Respond to payroll queries

Candidate requirements for the part time Payroll Clerk role:

* Previous payroll experience
* Ideally GCSE Maths and/or AAT qualification, although this is not essential
* Excellent accuracy and attention to detail
* Great communication skills to deal with any payroll queries
* Reporting skills
* Previous experience with payroll software

Hours: Monday to Wednesday, 8.30am – 5.00pm

Salary: £10.00 - £12.00 per hour
