Learning Support Assistant - SEMH School in Southampton
I am recruiting on behalf of a small provision in Southampton which caters for pupils with social, emotional and mental health issues aged between 9-18 years. The majority of pupils who attend the school are looked after and live in their 52 week a year residential homes.
They are seeking a Learning Support Assistant to join them in January 2019 to work on a full-time basis. You will be required to work on a 1:1 and small group basis both in the classroom and outside of the school supporting various activities.
The successful candidate will have recent experience of working in a PRU/SEMH setting or with children or young adults with extremely challenging behaviour. They are a small provision catering for a maximum of 15 pupils and you will be joining a dedicated, supportive, close knit team of Instructors, Teachers and LSA's.
If you have been Team Teach trained, or have an awareness of Team Teach, this would be an advantage, although training is provided.
Possessing a driving licence is necessary as you will be required to work off-site and use company vehicles.
If you feel you are suited to the above position, please apply by submitting a copy of your updated CV along with your contact details.
Applicants must have an enhanced child workforce related DBS on the DBS Update Service or be prepared to pay for a new one to be processed
