Looking for a job role at a school locally as an SEN Teaching Assistant!

SEN teaching assistant jobs focus on supporting the lessons of a child or a class of children aged between 11 and 18. SEN Teaching Assistants are most likely to stay in one class, supporting the development of children with cognition and learning difficulties, social, emotional and mental health challenges, sensory/physical impairments, and communication and interaction challenges such as Autistic spectrum disorder.

You will be expected to work on a 1:1 basis with specific students, assisting them with their class work in a range of subjects up to GCSE level. Other responsibilities include monitoring the behaviour and progress of small groups working on a supported curriculum and also assisting statemented students with their work in mainstream classes, under the instruction of the class teacher.

Our current teaching assistants work in a variety of roles in various schools around the area. We work closely with a range of SEN schools as well as pupil referral units and alternative provisions. All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE E.n.g.l.i.s.h & M.a.t.h.s (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
