Lumos is an international charity founded by J.K. Rowling. Our vision is of a world where all children have the opportunity to grow up and thrive in loving, nurturing, protective families. Children belong in families not orphanages; over 80 years of evidence shows us that orphanages can’t meet the needs of children. Lumos helps redevelop care systems to help keep families together and close orphanages for good; we aim to achieve our vision of a world without orphanages by 2050. We will do this by casting light onto the causes of institutionalisation and producing high-quality, compelling evidence of our long term, sustainable solutions.

Our High Value events programme is an important part of our Giving agenda. Reporting to the Head of Major Giving, you will optimise new opportunities and ensure excellence in supporter engagement by developing and managing a strategic events programme which will support high value fundraisers to cultivate and steward our supporters to grow fundraising income. With a focus on high value donors, particularly major donors, you will work with the team to create an exciting and engaging events programme to build donor relationships and educate donors on the impact of institutions on children. Whether you are creating event concepts, liaising with venues, managing guest lists or dealing with day-to-day queries from suppliers, you will ensure that we provide consistently outstanding levels of project management and customer care.

Excellent project management is at the heart of this role, supported by proven experience in creating and managing high value supporter events and meeting deadlines within a dynamic fundraising or corporate environment. Excellent interpersonal skills are essential, supported by a thorough understanding of event management processes and procedures. You must be accurate with information, able to manage and prioritise your own workload and competent with MS Office (Word, PowerPoint and Excel). The flexibility and willingness to travel and support at events where necessary is also important.
