This is an exciting time to join us. The three NHS trusts that currently run Broomfield, Southend and Basildon hospitals are planning to become a new single NHS organisation by mid-2019.

All three hospitals will continue to provide the services our patients use the most. These include outpatient appointments, children’s services and day-case surgery. All three hospitals will continue to provide 24/7 A&E and maternity services.

By working as one team we will provide the same high standard of care and services for all of our 1.2m local residents. Using the same equipment, processes and IT systems means services will run more smoothly. Single leadership, standards and new structures will speed up decision making. Combined corporate services will reduce duplication and cut running costs. This means more money for front-line services and faster improvements.

Southend University Hospital Windsor Ward is looking for a registered nurse to join our friendly and dynamic teams to help deliver excellent care. Our Windsor Ward is an acute medical ward for people aged 75 years and older. We provide care for patients with complex medical and social issues. We work closely with the patients and their families to give high standards of care, working with many specialities to enable a seamless journey for the patient from admission to discharge. The ward team comprises of 2 Gerontology Consultants, a Registrar, 4 Ward Doctors, a Matron, Ward Manager, trained Nurses, health care assistants, rehab team, domestics and caterers. We also work closely with the Clinical nurse specialists, Frailty team, Falls team, Safeguarding team, Social workers, Speech and Language therapists, discharge coordinators and bed flow management team. We also have a new designated reminisce room to help support caring for those with Dementia.

We are passionate about caring and supporting those in the last years of their lives, and are currently working towards an accreditation in this area.

The successful candidate will be a motivated team orientated professional with a passion for delivering good nursing in an ever changing environment. They must possess excellent communication skills, a high sense of professionalism and a strong belief in the value of teamwork.
