Rent and Service Charge Officer
This position is within the Income Management department based in Camden and Euston, London.
The Rents and Service Charge team are responsible for the accurate and effective rent and service charge setting service across all Origin's portfolio ensuring the association maximises rent and service charge income through the correct application of legislation and the efficient administration of the rent and service charge setting programmes.
We are looking for a dynamic, innovative, highly motivated, customer focused, solution orientated individual who has previous knowledge and experience of calculation and setting rents and service charges across a range of tenure types, including social rented, leasehold, and intermediate / market rent properties.
You will have strong knowledge and understanding of legislation governing the process for setting and reviewing rents and service charges.
The role will be responsible for the accurate production of rents and service charge information that will be used to levy charges to all residents.
You will be responsible for the annual rents and service charge process ensuring that resident enquiries are dealt with efficiently and accurately driving improvements in customer satisfaction levels.
The ability to build effective working relationships with key stakeholders is critical part of this role. The role will also be responsible for the preparation and issue of leasehold service charge estimates and reconciliation statements of accounts within agreed timescales working with external auditors on the annual service charge certification of accounts ensuring full legal compliance at all times.
The ideal candidate will have excellent numerical skills and be logical and efficient in their approach. They will have a track record of improving the way things are done with a good working knowledge of excel and business objects.
