Summary

The newly formed Wiltshire Reablement Service is looking to recruit occupational therapists to work across Wiltshire.

LIVE ∙ WORK ∙ SUPPORT

Wiltshire Council has recently gone through a whole system transformation and re-focused the way it is working with customers in the community. An inhouse, occupational therapy-led reablement service has been created which is empowering therapists to work using a creative and person-centred approach.

This service is moving towards an integrated relationship with our health partners and we have designed a new discharge pathway that supports customers on their journey home from hospital in a seamless whole system approach called Home First Plus. This will see health and social care therapists working together to achieve the best outcomes for the customer.

About the role

Our team aspires to be amongst the best in the country. Reablement offers occupational therapists a unique opportunity to work intensively with customers in their own homes on achieving their outcomes to enable greater independence. This role will empower you to develop innovative ways to achieve more ideal outcomes for people whilst working within defined budgets, and you will play an integral part in building and developing the new service.

Wiltshire Council has an excellent induction programme, investing in you with ongoing training; the teams are supported by profession-specific experienced team managers, advanced practitioners and a countywide principal occupational therapist. You will be part of a supportive and evolving team, developing a service that puts the customer at the centre of everything we do.

About you

You will be someone who can inspire colleagues through your best practice, high quality approach to care, and who is able to build lasting relationships with partners within the council, in the health, private and voluntary sectors. You will also be someone who can promote the take up of equipment and adaptations in order to maximise independence and improve the quality of life for our customers and their carers.

To join us in an exciting and rewarding role you will need to be a qualified occupational therapist. Wiltshire Council welcomes applications from newly qualified occupational therapists however for the experienced occupational therapist role you will need to demonstrate evidence of working with adults in either health or social care for 2 years post-qualification.

Interviews will take place on 14th December 2018.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of vulnerable adults, as an employee you will be expected to share this commitment.
