RECOVERY SUPPORT WORKER - Full Time - £9.09

Caretech Community Services is a national provider of support for people with complex and challenging behaviours associated with Autism, Learning Disabilities, Mental Health illness and neurological conditions, we support people to live as independently as possible within their own homes and also in residential care. Uplands is a private mental health hospital and caters for up to 30 people aged between 18-65 who may be informal guests or detained under the Mental Health Act. A majority of the residents at Uplands are people who have been living with serious mental illness most of, if not all of their life. With an experienced and qualified staff team, we work towards independence, community living and mental health recovery.

The Job Role:

The purpose of a Support Worker is to provide person centred care to meet individual residents identified psychological and physical needs and to assist to enable them to develop full potential using the recovery model.

To assist, supervise and to encourage as appropriate in all activities of daily living identified within the Recovery Care Plans, seeking to promote independence wherever possible.

To uphold residents’ rights to privacy, dignity and choice in a way that is consistent with their own safety and the safety of others.

*

Provide assistance as required to residents in maintain a good standard of personal Hygiene.

*

Assist residents as required in maintaining their appearance with grooming and dress. To encourage residents to change clothing regularly and support as required in laundering their personal clothing.

Assist residents as required in maintaining general tidiness and cleanliness of their own rooms and common areas of the house.

*

To assist residents in menu planning, purchasing and preparing meals for the resident group.

*

To encourage the planning and participation in social, recreational and occupation activities for individuals and the resident group.

*

To report to the Team Leader any matters or changes that may have regard to residents well-being.

*

To provide physical nursing care to residents who are disabled or during periods of ill health.

*

To have read and understood and to sign that you have done so all policies and procedures to ensure compliance at all times.

*

To work as part of a team and to be responsible for communicating well with others. Attending handovers and participating in staff and resident’s meetings as appropriate.

To report any complaints to the Team Leader in accordance with the Company Complaints Procedure or any concerns of safeguarding from abuse.

*

To respect the confidential nature of information concerning residents.

*

To be responsible for the general cleanliness and tidiness of the home.
