Learning Support Assistant

A school I am working with in East London are seeking to appoint a Learning Support Assistant to work within their resourced provision for pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and SEN and more widely across the school supporting SEN students in lessons. Students are rewarding to work with and they are looking for staff who are dedicated and passionate about working with students with autism and a wide range of SEN. The successful candidate will have the guidance of the ASC Managers and HLTAs within an agreed system of supervision, to implement agreed work programmes with individuals/groups with ASC needs, in or out of the classroom. This will include liaising with teaching staff about the needs of the pupils, supporting in the classroom. Ensuring pupils are able to access the schemes of learning and will include the management or preparation of resources or delivery of specific programmes.

To be successful for this Learning Support Assistant position you will need:

Graduate with 2:2 or above or Level 3 ChildcareGood academic backgroundSincere and empathetic naturePassion to work with students with additional needsVoluntary/paid experience working with ASC/MLD students - vital!DBS - in date

The Learning Support Assistant daily duties:

You will be working with children with autism, so must have the ability to work constructively as part of a team, understanding classroom roles and responsibilities, resilience and flexibility to respond to the varying demands of the school day and the pupils' needs. A commitment to CPD and training is also essential.

Daily rate £70-£75.
