Summary

Our commissioning service support our children and young people in care to deliver effective outcomes. The team ensure that support and placements are sourced within Wiltshire Council and procurement guidelines.

The children’s services buyers team sit within commissioning and focus on care for adults and children.

LIVE∙WORK∙SUPPORT

About the role

You will work as part of a supportive, cohesive and friendly team, with the opportunity to progress to a Specialist Buyer.

You will support and guide social work teams on sourcing the required goods and services which includes running RFQ’s, negotiating with service providers and maintaining data to make clear recommendations for improvements and opportunities to generate savings.

About you

You will have experience in a similar role, coupled with the desire to learn and apply new approaches and techniques.

We will look to you to be able to work accurately at pace and be comfortable with working to strict deadlines and thinking on your feet! You will have the confidence to make well-evidenced recommendations to influence your manager’s decisions in complex situations.

With your understanding of contractual obligations in ensuring that individual contracts are aligned to regional framework contracts, you will ensure competitive quotes are appropriately sourced. A theoretical understanding of running a competitive procurement process would be an advantage.
