With you, with the child, every step of the way
Here in West Sussex we are changing how we do things and have created a dedicated Children Looked After service. We have embedded Signs of Safety as our practice model, underpinned by developmental Trauma and Attachment Theory and Practice. We have an in-house Therapeutic assessment and Intervention Team and are currently developing an Integrated Children’s Psychology Service, as well as working closely with the multi-agency High Risk Adolescent Service and Leaving Care Service.
We are looking for experienced managers to join us as Group Managers – we currently have two vacancies; one post is based in Horsham, managing two Children Looked After teams and our Child Asylum Team. The second post will manage three Children Looked After teams based in Worthing and Bognor Regis. The post-holders will directly line-manage three Practice Managers and an Advanced Practitioner.
As a Group Manager, you will be child-centred and passionate about ensuring our most vulnerable children are supported to achieve their full potential. You will be an innovative and creative manager who is capable of leading and developing dedicated teams to perform at the highest level. You will be solution focussed with the ability to lead and manage change, be reflective and analytical in your approach to supporting your teams, as well as being able to build positive working relationships with children and young people, partner agencies and carers as well as respectfully challenge when appropriate.
You will be able to work on your own initiative but also perform as part of a wider senior management team. You will be a confident and competent manager who has an excellent understanding of the statutory requirements relating to children looked after and keeping children safe.
