JOB TITLE: Safeguarding Administrator
SALARY & BENEFITS: £25,342 (plus 15% pension contribution)
WORKING HOURS: Full Time (35 hours per week Monday to Friday) - Fixed Term for 2 years

Founded in 676AD it is one of the five senior dioceses of the Church of England. The Diocese consists of about two thirds of the County of Hampshire and most of Bournemouth in the County of Dorset, excluding Portsmouth and the area immediately to its north and north-east.

They now seek an experienced and highly proficient, organised and experienced Administrator to work join our client's established Safeguarding Team based in Alresford, Winchester, Hampshire.

ABOUT THE ROLE & TEAM: The Diocesan Safeguarding Team supports parishes and senior clergy to safeguard children and adults who may be at risk of abuse and neglect, and those in abusive relationships, through: immediate response to current and past allegations of abuse and harm, in partnership with statutory agencies; safe recruitment, training and support to voluntary and paid workers with children and adults; and creation of safe environments, through implementation of policies and procedures following the national legal and procedural framework for safeguarding children and adults, and Church of England policy and practice guidance.

As a Safeguarding Administrator your duties will be to work with and support the Diocesan Safeguarding Manager with implementation of policies and procedures, the maintenance of casework documentation, content management for the safeguarding web pages and general administrative support to the Diocesan Safeguarding Team and Safeguarding Panels.

This role would suit someone with experience in a PA, Secretarial or Senior Admin role as this is a wide and varied role where duties will change sometimes daily so will need a level of flexibility and good planning/organisational skills within this role. In addition to being the central link for the Diocese Safeguarding Manager and Safeguarding Consultants and planning their workloads, update a range of large databases and case management systems, provide and coordinate content for Safeguarding newsletters as well as undertaking other tasks as may reasonably be required by the DSM.

THE CANDIDATE: The successful candidate for the Safeguarding Administrator's role must be well organised and have proven experience of providing effective secretarial and administrative support as well as excellent IT skills with detailed experience of utilising all standard Microsoft Office packages and a variety of database such as Word, Excel & Outlook. Candidates should be comfortable and able to work under own initiative with the flexibility and adaptability to juggle a range of different tasks and remain calm and efficient when under pressure. Candidates will also need to be excellent communicators both written and verbal and be comfortable providing and coordinating content for newsletters and websites and due to the position being based in Old Alresford in Winchester, Hampshire, candidates must have their own adequate transport to commute in.

Key Experience/ Characteristics preferred for the Safeguarding Administrator's role in Old Alresford, Winchester, Hampshire :-

Must be highly organised and able to prioritise effectively
Ability to update records accurately and provide/coordinate content for newsletters/websites
Previous experience and high proficiency using IT software essential - Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook experience essential
Good knowledge or understanding of Safeguarding practices - candidates will still undergo training
Comfortable working across diverse areas of responsibilities, able to priorities and balance competing requirements and requests
Must be able to commute to Alresford, Winchester, Hampshire own transport is essential due to location
