Job overview / purpose:

We are offering the chance to become a Business Administrator for our brilliant and innovative kick-starter company in the heart of Birmingham city center.

With an ideal location and the right support, the apprentice will hope to work towards a business administration apprenticeship and ideally stay on within the business.

Main responsibilities:

Providing office support including customer and employee support Acting as a personal assistant to the business directors Keeping well-organised files and records of business activity Keeping computer databases up to date Interacting with clients either on the phone or in person Answering phones Taking phone messages and passing them on Using spreadsheets Collecting and inputting company data Making travel arrangements for employees Learning about the company's mission and available products/services Sending emails Preparing documents by printing, copying, and binding Collecting and sorting post Scheduling appointments and events Preparing meeting rooms by setting up chairs and getting refreshments Being ready for any other administrative tasks that are required

Desired qualities:

General office management, updating company database, filing, accounts, scheduling production, assisting with front of house and meeting and greeting clients Excellent communication skills Confident Proven to be punctual and reliable (references to support) Smart and professional appearance

Business Administration skills:

Organised, confident, keen interest in creative media and marketing, as well as Microsoft office 360 skills Team player and able to multi-task as required within a small agency Office/ reception management Professional attitude Time management, communication/ attention to detail Problem solving and multi-tasking Typing and computer skills

Desired qualification requirements:

GCSE English grade A ideally or B minimum, with excellent writing abilities and interests.

Working week:

5 days per week,


9:30am – 5:30pm, (1/2 hour lunch),

37.5 hours per week [all details will be confirmed with the employer]


£4.50 per hour / £168.75 per week


Annual Leave and Public/Bank Holidays

Your holiday year begins on 1st January and ends on 31st December each year, during which you will receive a paid holiday entitlement of 22 days in addition to the public/bank holidays.

Entitlements are pro-rata for part-time employees.

In your first holiday year, your entitlement will be proportionate to the amount of time left in the holiday year.

You will receive an additional day for each completed year of service, up to a maximum of five days after five years.

The public/bank holidays each year are:

New Year’s Day The last Monday in May Good Friday The last Monday in August Easter Monday Christmas Day The first Monday in May Boxing Day

QA’s apprenticeships are funded by the Education & Skills Funding Agency (ESFA), an executive agency of the Department for Education.

To be eligible for a Government funded apprenticeship you must have lived in the UK or European Economic Area (EEA) for the last 3 consecutive years.
