An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced investigator to join the Group Security function at Cambridge Assessment. The successful candidate will lead security investigations within the Group Security function to ensure the root causes of security incidents are understood and recommendations for remediation are made.

Group Security has been established for two years in the organisation, but is still growing and evolving, so it is the perfect time to join and influence direction and purpose of this function. The function was created to ensure that a holistic approach to security is adopted and can protect Cambridge Assessment's people, information, assets and premises globally. The successful candidate will take the lead on the investigative and intelligence capability to ensure the most effective security posture is achieved and vulnerabilities are identified and mitigated.

You will be the Group's Subject Matter expert in investigations and intelligence and must be capable of operating with high degrees of autonomy, but with the support of a strong Security senior leadership team. Key to the success of this role will be your ability to engage with colleagues of all levels and provide clear, well informed assessments of incidents and recommendations for corrective action in collaboration with security or other colleagues.

What we're looking for

  • Proven experience of leading and managing investigations is essential, within a security environment is highly desirable.
  • A strong planner, who is pragmatic and has a can-do attitude.
  • Working with, or an understanding of, intelligence in a security context is highly desired.
  • Experience of being a practitioner within a security discipline (cyber, information, physical, personnel or protective) is highly desired.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to liaise with audiences at various levels/grades of the business and build a strong and credible reputation within the organisation.
  • Ability to work under limited supervision and have the initiative and drive investigations through to completion.
  • A collaborative and understanding approach to working.
  • Uses own initiative to provide successful outcomes.
